Buttonholes with a difference...
Posted on
Tara and Ashley had a clear idea of the colours they wanted from the first consultation - bright and bold oranges and yellows! A firm favourite combination not just for Tara but for the close family too.
When we first met, the venue was an important starting point for developing ideas for the florals. Tara and Ashley had booked their date at the gorgeous Manor Farm Barn in Marsh Gibbon. This is a beautiful barn conversion designed specifically for weddings and events in the grounds of a working farm. They have kept lots of the original features with exposed wooden beams and stone walls creating a beautiful and rustic charm.
This couple were creative individuals with lots of ideas, making their own bespoke table displays, 'snack wall' and quirky alternative to confetti... AKA bubble machines!
The buttonholes were the perfect match. Ashley wore a 'pocket square' design. This is a light weight spray of flowers which sit across the top of the jacket pocket. Attached to a slip of card, it slides into place, is comfy to wear and something a bit different from your traditional single rose.
For the guests, simple tied clusters of flowers suited the informal setting perfectly. Tara had requested a spray rose she loved called 'Eyeliner' as well as Daisies which were her Nan's favourite flower. Spray roses and Tanacetum daisies were a great choice; light weight and petite for a buttonhole.
With a couple of informal consultations (the final sat in the pub garden on a very sunny afternoon!) the ideas fell into place perfectly and paid off on the day!
